Founded by furniture dealer Sophie Pearce, Béton Brut is a minimalist store and prop house that showcases the very best architect-led pieces from Europe and Japan. Though it’s named after a type of unfinished concrete, everything here is exquisitely thought through, with Pearce’s sculptural aesthetic channelled through a bouclé croissant sofa or a Frank Gehry cardboard chair.

This non-profit, free-to-enter gallery was founded by a group of artists in a former veneer factory and brewery warehouse near Victoria Park. And each year a new gang of contemporary creatives is given the opportunity to spend two years working on a show before exhibiting.
