With its polished wood tables, the low strung hanging lamp shares, bottles of wine perched row by row upon the shelves and the occasional pop of colour coming from the red-licked bookshelf corner, café kiem is as aesthetic as it is intimate. Wine bar at first glance, a kitchen rustling up a wholly local 5-course feast on second. Langoustine is served with bisque and semi-dried tomato, blood sausage complemented by a pile of stewed pear and chicory charred with a beurre blanc and purslane. Dessert surpasses any of the already high expectations. With one bite of the mille-feuille, we're booking to come again. Reserve well in advance, though if you're merely aching for a sip of wine and some terrific bar bites hop on a walk-in only bar stool.
