These wonderful sister restaurants are located in Amsterdam Oost, between the Indische Buurt & the Dapperbuurt. Wilde Zwijnen is a modern gastropub that serves delicious takes on Dutch classics in an incredibly romantic space, while Wilde Zwijnen Eetbar is an intimate tapas restaurant. The food is so good that the long bike ride is not even the slightest deterrent for us.

This student-run cinema-slash-bar-slash-restaurant is probably the hippest cinema in town. This cultural hub is home to many art and music showcases and has a really great terrace for the warmer months. Their ever-changing menu places a great emphasis on biological and sustainable food, incorporating seasonal produce into their menus.

Culinary veterans Maitre Juriaan van der Maarel (from gloobles favourite Rijsel) & Steven Broere have crafted an absolute delight of a restaurant in Foer. The name hints at the Dutch verb ‘foerageren’, so it should come as no surprise that the menu leans heavily on seasonal produce from the Netherlands, with the menu changing from top to bottom every two months.

This quaint distillery is buried so deep inside Flevopark that many locals don’t even know about this gem. It has a lovely terrace for when you want to sip on a few 'biertjes' in the sun.
