A classic addition to the Basel dining scene has to be Restaurant Kunsthalle. With splendid views of the terrace and garden, tuck in to some seasonal Basel specialities. Hearty, comfort food at its best.

The angular building, concrete stairs, and grey tones may not sound particularly appealing, however when these features are combined with huge panelled windows and exceptional art they suddenly become magical, essential elements. The Kunstmuseum Basel exhibits an amazing collection of works as well as being home to a terrific museum shop.

Bringing the flavours, and ambience, of Tuscany to the renovated waterworks within Vorstädte is ACQUA. An Osteria, come bar and lounge swing by this trendy spot for an aperitif before settling down in the industrial clad dining room for a bowl of caserecce, grilled fish, or a sliced beef fillet.

Overlooking the Rhine, the Brasserie at Les Trois Rois conjures up the freshest, tastiest Swiss and French bistro specials. An escalope viennoise or joues de boeuf, and make sure to leave room for the dessert, the crème brûlée is exceptional.
