This funky lunch spot on Praia do Pego has a trendy bar and a cool boutique. It's no wonder it's one of our favourite places in Comporta.
Tucked on a windswept stretch of Comporta’s coast, Sublime Beach Club is all about good company, indulging on that Atlantic salty breeze, and sun-drenched afternoon lounging. Despite being in the middle of nowhere, it’s buzzing- with families, friends, and long lunches that stretch into golden hour. The space is a visual feast: shelves stacked with books, statues, and coastal decor; every corner layered with texture and charm. The menu leans simple seafood, salads, pasta but the house wine (produced in nearby Barrancão) is a highlight and a must try. Go for lunch, stay for a sunset drink, and let the barefoot vibe do its thing.
The ultimate summer dining spot, street food truck and drive-by diner, Salburger has the best burgers in Comporta. Hands down. Not into meat? Their veggie burger is also seriously good.
When coastal retreat Quinta da Comporta opened its newest oceanside restaurant, Elemento Atlântico, the setting was a guaranteed hit. Just metres from the JNcQUOI Beach Club, Elemento is poised as a revamped beach shack, fitted with brushed wooden window frames, a raised boardwalk, and a decked interior featuring hanging boats, a ceiling library, and decorative fishing rods. A Philippe Starck vision. The food, a Portuguese- and Brazilian-inspired mix led by chef Manu Buffara, is a fresh take on fish-led starters – baby squid is grilled upon a bed of corn purée and squid ink sauce – while the main dishes move towards heavier, coconut-led sauces.
The Pierre Yovanovitch interiors all hand-painted tiles, parquet floors and bespoke curved furniture. The working winery and barrel room. Breakfast on the terrace with those rolling Douro views. The infinity pool. Commissioned artwork throughout, including a cluster of pale pink glass bubbles hanging over the kitchen table.
