This Mediaeval town tucked away in the hills of Tuscany is known for some of the best wine in the world, Brunello. Once you've had your fill of wine - though we imagine that may never happen - there are lovely fortresses and museums to tickle your cultural fancy.

nice to know
Play along with the locals who play a lighthearted game called "Vino Verità" (Wine Truth). The rules are simple: for every sip of Brunello di Montalcino, participants must share a charming or amusing secret.
Our gloobles friend Heleen van Poecke's family's Brunello winery can be found about 6 minutes outside of town and is one of our favourite Tuscan destinations for wine tours & tastings. We can't help but fawn over their Brunello di Montalcino!
