Sicily
in Italy

A sizzling, sensuous island, Sicily floats just off the tip-toe of Italy. Known for Mafia connections, this island is rich in history with remnants of Greeks, Romans, Arabs and almost every other European power in the Middle Ages and Renaissance visible at every turn.

Catania

Perched at the base of Sicily's active Mount Etna, Catania is a gorgeous ancient port city. We like to spend a few days here before dashing off to explore the rest of the island.

Messina

Criminally underrated Messina is nestled into a curved harbour at the very tip top of Sicily's Ionian Coast. Founded by Greeks during the Ancient Era, Messina was once a very powerful city and remains impressive to this day thanks to beautiful architecture and charming streets.

Syracuse

Overlooking the Ionian Sea, Syracuse is known for its stunning vistas and beautiful ancient ruins. Ogle the Roman Amphitheater, drool over the Teatro Greco, go gaga for the Orecchio di Dionisio.
