there is truly no better way to take in the splendours of Lake Como than from the water and we love to rent a little motorboat and hit the lake with some snacks to dream house hunt.
Built in the 17th century, the botanical gardens are a kaleidoscope of colors, broken up into Italian, romantic, and agricultural-style sections. Our highlights of Villa Carlotta, the beauty of the architecture aside, have got to be the ferns valley and citrus tunnel. We eagerly await the summer season!
This absolutely photogenic hotel probably has the best views over Lake Como. Spend your day reading & relaxing at the striking floating pool on the lake or at the more private green pool and enjoy impeccable service and the most gorgeous views.
This intimate, family-run restaurant in the mountains above Tremezzo serves traditional country fare and cucina di montagna (mountain cuisine). For those adventurers out there, walk from Tremezzo - though be prepared, it is a hike! The sweeping views, and delicious food make it well worth the trip however!
A day trip worth taking. Only a short boat ride away to the town of Bellagio stands the opulent, English-style gardens of Villa Melzi. Completed in 1810, the grounds also host a Neoclassical mansion, a chapel, a hill-pine forest, and an Orangérie-cum-museum, all with sensational views over the lake. We are more than ready for its opening in March when the summer season begins.
