Mémé is a lovely retro bistro with a modern electric menu that likes to surprise with its renditions of mixing fish & meat! This wonderful little bistro by Marseille’s favorite hyper-active chef Jérôme Benoît is definitely worth the visit.

Massive, chaotic, brilliant: this former tobacco factory is all that and a fair bit more. Artist studios sit next to skateboard ramps, street art covers every surface, and you never know what you’ll stumble across – working artists, pop-up exhibitions, or just people hanging out in the gardens. The rooftop stretches right across the city to the sea, and in summer the free "On Air" events bring DJs, live music, and food trucks. You can roam most of the sites for free, but exhibitions and the roof are ticketed.

Set up in 2011 after years as a nomadic programme, Studio Fotokino covers visual arts broadly – photography, illustration, graphic design, cinema, and video all get space here. Exhibitions rotate regularly and recent shows have included Geoffroy Pithon, Simon Roussin and Nathalie du Pasquier. They run workshops, talks and guided visits for adults and children, and publish small editions tied to the exhibitions. The bookshop is great too with endless zines and design titles you’ll want to take home.

We can't help but be obsessed with their unique plant-dyed, pleated silk pieces that come in the most fabulous colours and styles that are truly for everyone. Innovative, sustainable and über-chic, Azur are truly a creative force to be reckoned with.
