Sweeping views across Ylläsjärvi lake, cross-country skiing and sledging trails in your "backyard" and Northern Lights visible more times than not. Need we say more! The farm that is Aurora Estate is your quaint and cosy, yet undisputedly luxurious boutique hotel.

300-hectares of pine trees and wilderness await at Octola Private Wilderness: Lapland's most exclusively, luxurious lodge. Snow, sun, rain or shine, it's fair to say a retreat at Octola will far exceed all expectations. Especially when the Northern Lights are visible for over 200 days.

Overlooking its namesake fjord from a forested hillside, Storfjord slips almost entirely into the treeline. Stewarded by the Flakk family (behind 62Nord), its dark-wood lodges draw on traditional Norwegian laftehus, with grass roofs and log walls rooting it to the landscape. In warmer months, doors open to birdsong and mountain air, while trails lead into the Sunnmøre Alps. Down on the water, kayaking, swimming and boat trips shape slow, outdoors-led days.

Catch some zzz with a sea view. Enjoy the stunningly designed apartments quietly homed on one of central Tromsø's main streets.
