Clinging to a rocky outcrop in Helsinki’s archipelago, Majamaja distils Nordic living to its essentials. Designed by Finnish architect Pekka Littow, these off-grid cabins hover above the Baltic, reached by bike or boat. Compact and self-sufficient, each runs on solar power with a closed-loop water system, while floor-to-ceiling windows draw in sea, sky and seabirds. Open April to November, life here follows the elements, offering a pared-back, nature-immersive sense of shelter at the water’s edge.
Open seasonally from April to November, with occasional winter openings.
