An incredibly diverse country, Croatia blooms with culture, history and nature. Though we usually visit in summer, the other seasons are pretty wonderful too.

Dalmatian coastal

Stone towns tumble down to the sea, fishing boats bob in harbours and the water really is that shade of blue. Split is the ideal base, its Roman palace turned living city centre unlike anywhere else in Europe. Island hop to Hvar or Vis for quieter coves and very good local wine. Come in May or September and you'll have it largely to yourself.
