Forget magnets and mass-produced trinkets. Vienna’s 7th district is packed with independent design stores, but Die Sellerie is the one to bookmark. Founded in 2010 by designers and art directors Patrick Bauer and Georg Leditzky on Burggasse, the charming concept store brings together a carefully curated edit of European design and art, from fine-art prints and ceramics to home accessories, textiles and whimsical objects. There’s also the store’s own collection, designed in Vienna and produced in Austria, making it the perfect place to pick up a souvenir.

A brilliant sharing-plates favourite among locals, Tian Bistro is entirely plant-based, making it all the more exceptional in a city where schnitzel is the go-to dish. The set menu comes with a handful of additional dishes to choose from, but don’t miss the Pom Bourguignon with shallots and spätzle, best enjoyed alongside the beloved bread from Joseph Brot, served with butter and olive oil.

Away from the buzz of the city is the remarkable, classic Austrian restaurant: Glacis Beisl. It's home to the heart-warming local classics, a jovial terrace and garden and most importantly - a superb wine list.  

Beloved chef Eyal Shani brings to life a vibrant place with insane cuisine inspired by the South Mediterranean and French, German and Italian flavours.
