Consider chef Aruss Lerlerstkull's Charmkok a daytime alternative to its hot-ticket siblings, Charmgang and Charmkok. The lunch menu draws on Southern Thai canteen staples, while after dark, the space turns into a standing bar with killer soundtracks.

In a city of sleek rooftop spots and high-design riverside hangouts, Samsara hits the spot with its unfussy vibe and front-row views over the Chao Phraya River. The craft beer menu, with bottles from small-scale local brewers, punches well above its weight.

A fresh addition to Charoenkrung's steadily growing line-up of after-hours spots, this former warehouse now hosts several restaurants (including Electric Sheep and the Lao food-focused Funky Lam Kitchen), a vinyl listening bar, and rooftop drinking den. Keep an eye on the agenda for the flea markets, art events and DJ nights taking over its courtyard.
