From stage productions, operas to exhibition spaces and jazz evenings. The NMACC is a cultural centre that satiates our artistic appetite whilst uniting global communities.
This buzzy Goan spot deserves its plaudits: both its bar and restaurant made it onto the 50 Best list. Make no mistake, though, a meal here won’t break the bank – and certainly not at lunchtime, when its most famous dishes are part of a set-price South Indian thali. Sit at the counter – where the bartenders sling moreish coconut washed cocktails – or grab a high-table to eavesdrop on nearby office gossip.
If the party looks like it wants to double down, head to Toto’s Garage – a funky, street-style bar just a short hop fromVeronica’s. While this place is not about frills – it’s styled like a mechanic’s garage, with everything from disused enginesto license plates – it’s high on energy. Go for the chilled beer, the 80s groove and the low-key crowd.
If this tiny Bandra-based store looks like a trinket box, it’s because it is; Beg Borrow Steal is one of the best places to find vintage jewellery in the city. While all the big-name designers are here, the coolest pieces are often unbranded.
Two things are immediately apparent at this Bandra-based bar: the loud, street-style mural that washes the exterior, and the queue that slinks down the street. While some wait for this thoroughly fun diner-style vibe – bar snacks, sandos and a great by-the-glass wine list – others have an ulterior motive. For the floor above is home to Papa’s; the most exclusive 12-seat sister restaurant, whose tasting menu is the talk of the town.
