Love Muji? Then boy do we have the hotel for you. This beautifully designed hotel perfectly combines modernity and calm.

For cushy seating and funky decor, there's nowhere we'd recommend for coffee more than Soloist. A public bathhouse in a previous life, Soloist brews up strong espressos and foams perfect lattes.

Whether you're on the hunt for a souvenir, in the mood to browse or are interested in learning more about Beijing's history, head to Beijing Postcards. They have a tremendous collection of old photos and maps of the city. Plus, they host events and neighbourhood walks where you can learn about the city's past.

Keen for a little simultaneous shopping and sightseeing? Head to Beijing's famous walking street. Through both the Ming and Qing dynasties (and now, too, of course!), Qianmen Street has been a buzzing hub for retail of all kinds.
